EXIBITION

"After a long pause, I returned to painting at a later stage in life, intuitively and without pretense. What began as a spontaneous return has evolved into a committed practice"

My practice is rooted in an early fascination with nakshas—repetitive, meditative patterns of paisleys, circles, and geometric forms that I began drawing as a child. These intricate visual labyrinths filled my notebooks and kathas, shaping an instinctive relationship with rhythm, symmetry, and detail.

Although I did not pursue art academically at the university level, the impulse to create remained constant, resurfacing over time through an exploration of various mediums.

After a long pause, I returned to painting at a later stage in life, intuitively and without pretense. What began as a spontaneous return has evolved into a committed practice.

My work draws from color, pattern, and print, often balanced with a sensitivity to clean lines and compositional clarity. I am particularly interested in the interplay between structure and spontaneity—layering, combining, and reworking ideas until a visual harmony emerges. Much of my process begins with observation: capturing moments, textures, or motifs, and translating them into abstracted forms.

Working primarily in acrylic, I continue to experiment with material and technique, with an intention to expand into oils and other mediums.

This body of work marks an ongoing journey—one shaped by rediscovery, persistence, and the quiet support of family, who have made space for my practice to grow.
